For the day you hope never comes

Prepare your pet's Come Home Kit before you ever need it.

Prepare in peace. One switch when it matters most.

Homeward Pet helps you organize your pet's photos, identifying details, and safety information while they are safe at home. If they ever go missing, activate one clear recovery kit with the information you need to start spreading the word.

Privacy and trust

Clear choices about what stays private

Homeward Pet is being built so you can prepare useful information without making your pet’s everyday profile public.

Private while safe

Your pet's profile is designed to remain private until you choose to activate a Come Home Kit.

You choose what becomes public

A public missing-pet alert is limited to the information you intentionally include when you activate it.

Sightings stay protected

Reporter contact details, shared phone coordinates, and private sighting reports are limited to your authorized household and Homeward Pet administrators.

How it works

Step 1 — Prepare

Create a private profile with your pet's current photos, identifying features, and important safety information.

Step 2 — Activate

If your pet goes missing, activate their Come Home Kit and add the latest last-seen details.

Step 3 — Share

Create a public alert, printable flyer, QR code, and sharing information without starting from scratch.

Pet profiles stay private while your pet is Safe at Home. Nothing becomes public unless you activate a Come Home Kit.

Our Story

From Houdini to Homeward Pet

A childhood escape artist inspired a calmer way to prepare.

Then

Houdini

The little escape artist who started it all.

Always finding a way out

Homeward Pet began with my childhood dog, whom we nicknamed Houdini because she was always finding a way out.

When she disappeared, finding her meant walking through the neighborhood calling her name, making and posting flyers, contacting the local shelter, and putting notices online.

Everything had to be figured out while we were already worried.

Now

Rupert

The reason I want to be ready.

Safe at home, for now and hopefully always

Now I'm an adult with Rupert — and work, responsibilities, and a life that would not pause if he ever left the yard.

I started thinking about what I would actually need in that first hour: clear photos, his identifying details, and somewhere to send people.

None of that is hard to gather on a calm afternoon. It is nearly impossible to gather while panicking.

“I don’t want the first time I gather Rupert’s best photos and identifying details to be the moment he is missing.”

That idea became Homeward Pet.

Homeward Pet helps guardians prepare while their pets are safely at home — photos, identifying details, and the things you would scramble for later — and turns all of it into a Come Home Kit if it is ever needed.

  • 1. Prepare while they are safe

  • 2. Activate the Come Home Kit

  • 3. Focus on bringing them home

This is not about expecting the worst. It is about doing a little now, while everything is okay, so you can feel more prepared if it ever happens.

Building in Public

From an idea to a trusted first release

Homeward Pet began with a simple question: could preparing while a pet is safe make it easier to act when they go missing? The first working version is now being tested privately with friends and family.

Each testing round helps us learn what feels clear, trustworthy, and genuinely useful before access expands.

Release a stable first version to a broader group of early pet guardians and continue learning from real-world use.

The question we’re testing

Can preparing before an emergency make the first hours of a missing-pet search calmer and easier to manage?

That is what the Homeward Pet private beta is designed to help us learn.

Want to help shape the first release?

We’re inviting a small number of pet guardians to test Homeward Pet and share honest feedback.

Invitations are limited while private testing remains small.
